Freight & access
Delivered where you need it,
when we said we would.
Containers are large, heavy and specialised, so they move on freight — not parcel carriers. That means the delivery has to be planned, and it means we need to know about your site before we book a truck.
What the driver needs.
Tilt-bed delivery is the standard method: the bed tips, the unit slides off under control, and the truck pulls forward from under it. It is quick and it does not need a crane — but it needs room.
Straight approach
Roughly three times the unit length of straight, firm run-up. A 20ft unit wants about 60ft; a 40ft wants around 100ft. The truck has to pull forward in a line as the container comes off.
Overhead clearance
Nothing above the drop zone. The bed tilts high, so low branches, cables, gutters, canopies and signage are all genuine obstacles — not near misses.
Firm ground
Hardstanding, compacted gravel or dry, firm ground. Soft grass, fresh fill and wet clay will bog a loaded truck, and a stuck truck is an expensive afternoon for everyone.
How freight is calculated.
Freight is quoted separately from the unit, always. You see what the steel costs and what the truck costs, as two numbers, so you can make a real decision about which one to change.
Three things move the figure: the distance from the depot holding your unit, the equipment needed to move and offload it, and how difficult your site is to get into. Long distances and awkward access cost more; a straightforward drop within a few hours of a depot costs a lot less than people expect.
We schedule delivery appointments in advance with a real window, not a vague week. If the window slips, you hear it from us first.
Depot pickup.
If you have your own transport, or the unit is going somewhere a truck cannot easily reach, collecting from the holding depot is the most economical way to buy. We will tell you which terminal has your unit and what you need to bring.
